The Thunderbird, replacing the older Firebird offers race-like performance on the piste with slightly more forgiveness and versatility than a pure-bread race ski would. Ccomprised of two sheets of metal along with some carbon additives which ultimately provides a very stable ski and an impossibly smooth feel even at high speeds. The R15 WB is the "Wide Body" version of this Thunderbird model and has a waist width of 76 millimeters. While not a floater by any means, the additional surface area helps when the groomers are soft or when things get chopped up towards the end of the day. So if you like making dynamic turns at fast speeds, this is the ski for you. The TrueBlend On-Piste Wood Core, Active Carbon Armour and a pronounced sidecut all give this ski a very energetic feel while carving, and the ski is able to stay quiet, maximizing ski to snow contact for impeccable stability. True Blend Piste Woodcore

Perfect Balanced Flex: Two different types of wood specifically blended into one woodcore. The different density stringers are customized in quantity and length creating 3 different areas of density to precisely control the flex. Accessible Performance: The Trueblend Piste Woodcore is designed with a harder flex zone in the center, that provides stability and edge grip, a medium flex zone in front of and behind the binding that provides control, and a soft flex zone in the tip and tail that provides easy turn initiation and release. This technology allows us to precisely control the flex throughout the whole length of the ski and in every size.

Active Carbon Armor

Active Carbon Armor is a vibration damping and rebound control system that is located under the binding. Inspired by the carbon armor from the Firebird collection, the carbon fiber plate is brought outside of the ski body which allows it to flex freely. In this way the ski turns out to be less demanding while still providing a very high level of performance. This technology provides both vibration damping and enhanced rebound and acceleration without affecting the progressive flex of the ski.

Duramax

New titanal construction that is designed to provide both maximum durability and increased performance with a unique, high value look. The top titanal layer is extended to the very edge of the ski and placed directly under the top foil which is then milled back 3 mm, thus exposing it. The titanal directly absorbs all impacts that occur along the top edge, reducing scratches and eliminating chipping.
