- Union Bindings come in a variety of flex ratings. The baseplate, highback, straps, bushing and disk all have different stiffnesses to help give a specific ride feel and function. Softer flexing bindings are generally used for more surfy or freestyle riding, while stiffer bindings are generally used for more hard charging and responsive freeriding.
